It also helps keep out rabbits, skunks, woodchucks and raccoons. Ideal for powering remote areas and areas lacking access to AC power. Can be used with medium length fences having light to moderate weeds. Features include digital timing, an indicator lamp that shows the charger is working, and a rugged, weather-resistant case. Use 10 to 17 gauge wire. 6-volt battery with pulsed DC output (1-second intervals). Battery life approximately 4 to 5 weeks, battery not included. Comes with a 1-year warranty that includes damage caused by lightning.

Featuring 0.25 output joules, this solid state energizer is best for short-haired animals, including horses, cattle and pigs. DISTANCE RATINGS
When used with steel wire and no weeds touching the line, this charger can power up to 5 miles of fencing. With light weeds or poly fence line, it can power up to 2.5 miles of fencing.
EASY-GRIP TERMINALS
For easy installation, the EDC5M-Z features easy-grip screw-on terminal knobs that help you connect your ground-rods and your live fence wire. Connect the fence line to the red terminal and the ground line to the green knob.
FENCE STATUS
Monitor your fence status by checking the simple “Fence OK” light. If the light is active, then your fence is up and running. This allows you to do quick spot checks on your fence and indicates when the power is flowing from the outlet.
