    Description

This is one of the largest bowls I've ever owned.  It's about 12" at the widest, about 11" at the rim, and close to 6" deep.  Cliff Polychrome is a type of Salado with a few defining features.  Notice the way the rim is slightly outflared, there's a design field on the inner rim at the top with diamonds and dots, then the solid "spirit line" (which is broken) below that, then a larger design field in the interior...those are Cliff Polychrome features.  The main design could be bear paws, or rain clouds, or darn near whatever a person sees in it.  The swirls and the hatchuring, the colors and symmetry are all Salado hallmarks.  Cliff poly wasn't made for very long, 100 years between 1350-1450, and doesn't seem to be very common at all, and this is nice specimen with fire clouds and a presence that shows very well.  PayPal only and USA BUYERS ONLY, thanks!  Payment within 24 hours of auction end, I will ship the next business day after payment clears via USPS Priority Mail (I have to charge a little extra on this one, it's BIG).  We're leaving Arizona and this piece belongs in the Southwest, or at least on the Mainland, I hope you treasure, respect and enjoy it as I have.  NO USA, State, or Native American customs, laws or protections were violated in its recovery from private land in SE Arizona...thanks!
