Description
Created by George Washington Bacon, this unique and beautiful leather case with road maps of Scotland contains 12 different individual town maps. This particular kit includes a "Bacon's Index Map of Scotland, showing areas covered by Bacon's new Three-mile Motoring Maps". Also includes sub-maps of: Inverness, Peterhead, Fort William, Aberdeen, Oban, Perth, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Ayr, Hawick, Wigtown, and Dumfries. Each individual map isfolded into pocket maps in their original maroon cases and
include main roads, other roads, footpaths, railways and stations, county boundaries, heights in English feet, parks and woods.This set also offers a perfectly intact Universal Map Measurer. Red velvet lines the inside of the box, and is still in good wear with no rips or tears. This kit is rustic while maintaining very good condition. After a lot of searching from the last 40 years of map sales by Bacon, nothing came up for this set - there is no record of this set anywhere.
